Biography


"One record- breaking cold winter, between semesters, she ran away to Key West, Florida."
JoAnne Hauser Warren was born and raised in Cuba City,
Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin -
Madison as an art major until one record breaking cold 
winter, between semesters, she ran away to Key West,
Florida.  She attended Florida Keys College in Key West,
where the entire art department was located on a houseboat.
Here she  took the first of many classes in watercolor.
Eventually she left the Keys and continued her education

at various schools and other workshops throughout Florida 
and Virginia. 
JoAnne is now once again residing in Cuba City, Wisconsin
where she makes her living as a full-time professional
artist.  Her light filled watercolors feature a vibrant use of 
color, bold values and lush textures.  
In addition to painting, she also teaches watercolor 
workshops at Hawk Valley School of the Arts in Galena, 
Illinois, and classes at Highland Community College (also in

Galena) and at Rountree Gallery in Platteville, Wisconsin. 
Her work is represented in many private and corporate 
collections throughout the world, including the University
of Wisconsin, Loras College, Astra Merck Pharmaceuticals,  
and New York Life. Ms. Warren's work is carried by the
No Rules Art Gallery in Spring Green, WI.
